These terms govern your use of Chess Thrill. By using the site you accept them. If you do not, please do not use it.
Chess Thrill is operated by Tinje.com, [Porto, Portugal].

You must be 16 or older to create an account. If you are under 16 you need permission from a parent or guardian. Much of the site — playing bots, solving puzzles, reading the lessons and the classic games — works without an account at all.
Chess Thrill is for people playing chess. While a rated game is in progress you must not:
The engine and analysis tools built into the site are there for training, for reviewing games that have finished and for the lessons. Using them during a live game is cheating.
If we conclude that an account has broken these rules, we may reset its rating, remove it from the leaderboards, restrict it or close it. We will not always be able to explain in detail how we reached that conclusion, because doing so would help people work around it.
Do not harass other players, do not use the site to advertise, and do not try to break into it, overload it or access data that is not yours. Automated use — scripts, bots, scraping — is not allowed without our written agreement.
The games you play are kept so that you and your opponent can review them, and they may appear in leaderboards and in the public parts of the site. How we handle your personal data is set out in our Privacy Policy.
Chess Thrill uses open material and we would rather say so plainly:
The name Chess Thrill, the design of the site and the text we wrote — the lessons, the notes on the classic games — belong to us. You are welcome to link to any page.
Chess Thrill is offered as it stands. We do our best to keep it running and correct, but we do not promise that it will always be available, that every game will finish cleanly, or that a rating or an analysis will be free of error. Features may change or be removed.
Ratings, puzzle scores and progress are records within a game. They have no monetary value and cannot be transferred or exchanged.
You may stop using Chess Thrill at any time, and you may ask us to delete your account by writing to [email]. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms.
Because a chess game has two players, deleting your account does not delete the games themselves: the moves are kept with your name replaced, so that your opponents keep their own record.
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of the site. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud. If you are a consumer, your statutory rights are unaffected.
We may update these terms. The date at the top changes when we do, and substantial changes are flagged on the site. Continuing to use Chess Thrill after a change means you accept the new version.
These terms are governed by [Portuguese] law, and the courts of [Portugal] have jurisdiction. If you are a consumer resident in the European Union, you keep the protection of the mandatory rules of your own country and may bring proceedings there.
